The special thing about the month of April every year is the sinhala hindu new year.It is a festival that is celebrated with great pride by the Sinhala and Tamil people. This festival symbolise a new beginning, happiness and unity. It is the time when the environment is decorated with flower and fruits. New year is full of rituals. New year's eve, pouring the milk, cooking, eating, making deals, etc...This is a time when bananas, milk rice, and other foods are served on the the table in every house.



You can spend time happily with family members. It is a time to forgot the angry in your hearts and spend it happily. It is a festival that preserves traditions and culture. New year is a step towards a new beginning, happiness, and love for everyone, big and small regardless of race.
